Our Story
Complex Nutrition was established in 1999 as a centre of excellence to produce and launch new products into international markets. Brand owners without their own manufacturing capability found it difficult to develop commercially-successful new products. To solve this problem, we built a new product development(NPD) capability onto our existing facility. We achieved plant accreditation with the Department of Agriculture, Health Service Executive, BRCGS Food Safety AA certification, CNCA China Dairy Approval, Halal, Kosher, Organic Status and Origin Green Environmental standard.
Our Vision
Our primary vision was to develop and make premium products on the same site. This original concept generated the agile and efficient development process we operate today for our customers.
Additionally, we have a deep understanding of the regulatory needs of international markets, developing ingredients and formulations that meet their differing and exacting requirements. We have accumulated an extensive supply chain of partners in the fields of food science, regulatory, ingredients, equipment, artwork, labelling and logistics.
Our goal is to help our partners become brand leaders, enabling them to compete with established brands. We have been very successful thus far in the areas of food for special medical purposes and sports nutrition, and we look forward to new challenges in the future.
Today we employ 60 highly trained staff at our 35,000 sq. ft. state of the art facility in Co. Meath.
John Cunningham
Managing Director
Co-founder and Managing Director, John drives the strategic development of the company. His engineering background helps him support clients in analysing opportunities and developing innovative solutions. He has extensive systems and production experience.
Tom McDonnell
Finance Director
Co-founder and Finance Director, Tom ensures that all regulatory and financial filing requirements are fulfilled. He has particular skills in the development of bespoke financial tools to ensure control. He has implemented plans to ensure the successful execution of our overall strategy as we grow.
Ramon Macaisa
Technical Manager
Ramon is our Technical Manager with particular responsibility for new product development and compliance. A food scientist through and through, he set up the NPD department and has managed the successful launch of countless ranges of technical products. Attention to detail is Ramon’s obsession.
Isaac Awodeyi
Production Manager
Isaac is the engine behind our production department. He is an engineer with a flair for people management. His work ethic is infectious, and his dedication to excellence is seen throughout the plant. He is driven to ensure that products are made right and on time.
Kieran Smith
Customer Care Manager
Kieran is the link between our clients and the plant for ongoing projects. He ensures that communications are clear, precise and timely. He finds scheduling, logistics and production solutions.
Emily Gough
Health Safety & Training
Emily ensures that documented systems are fully trained out and implemented. Her role is central to ensuring that all operations are systemised, trained and reviewed. Emily works closely with changing regulatory requirements, modifying procedures and implementing training to ensure everybody understands what is required.
Catherine Masterson
HR Manager
Catherine ensures that all HR policy and procedures are followed. She develops staff to grow with the company and ensures that we have the skills required for continued expansion.
